Zak is a Research Associate at the School of Public Policy at the University of Calgary. He specializes in international trade and energy policy. Prior to becoming a researcher, Zak was a Masters of Public Policy student at the School. His capstone project modelled the impact of Alberta’s carbon tax on households by income level. He holds a BA in political science and international relations from Carleton University.
Zak spent 18 months at the Bavarian Research Alliance in Munich managing scientific research projects. Living in Germany introduced Zak to the Energiewende, Gemütlichkeit and Lederhosen. Zak has a global worldview that has been developed by also living in England and France. He speaks English, French and German.
Zak enjoys spending his free time immersed in new cultures, skiing and supporting Tottenham Hotspur.
